Think of the fourth edition as the – beautiful, rigorous, and foundational, but not the living language of today’s rapid methods. If you have access via your institution library (many do), use it for troubleshooting , background , and classic techniques (plasmid prep, restriction cloning, Southern/Northern blots, library construction).
